2007 Quality District
A 2007 Quality District

From the District Committee Meeting:

  • Has your unit conducted a 2001 "Friends of Scouting" presentation? Our District can maintain its Quality Unit standing only if we make our FoS goal. At only $5.00 per scout from each of our units, we can make the goal. Time is speeding by. For details contact District Chairman Tom Fitzwilliams A.S.A.P. See the Sept. 2000 Newsletter for more details.
  • New listings: This item unit fund raising in the calendar indicates Council-authoized Unit Fund Raising events. We have been permitted to list these events on the District Calendar. Here's how:
    1. plan your event and be sure to send in your Unit Money Earning application to the Council for approval.
    2. Once approved, send the web guy an e-mail with the details (date, time, location, description, cost, etc.
    3. The web guy will verify that your event has had the proper paperwork completed and list your event for all District Scouts to see & participate in.
First listing is already out there!
  • Parent or Leader with too much time on your hands? The District Nominating Committee is hoping to fill an additional 52 slots. This would allow a lot of current District members to only have just one job in the District allowing them more time to do a better job for the District. If you're willing to help out, email District Chairman Tom Fitzwilliams.
See below for an open meeting scheduled for 15 Jan 2002.
  • National Council has activated the Scoutnet 2000 so that councils may receive award reports and charter reports in electronic media from any of 4 approved unit record keeping software packages. Our Council has been testing this over the summer and will begin accepting electronic media after November 1st. Units will be receiving a letter from Council notifying them officially of this, listing the software authorized by the BSA, and outlining the procedures to be followed.
Any other units currently using PackMaster© please contact the Web master!
  • You may have noticed that with the advent of SN2K, it seems like National has been revising all the forms, especially Applications. While our dearest Registrar will not send you away to get new forms, it makes her job easier if we're all using current Application Forms. These are:
    • No. 28-102H  Pack Application    2.9MM501
    • No. 28-209Q  Boy Scout Application    1.4MM501
    • No. 28-303C  Venture Application    700M501
    • No. 28-501T  Adult Registration Application  1.94MM701

    Thanks for keeping current.

  • Also, we're going to be responsible for the Camp Stambaugh page(s) on the Council site. We've started getting some volunteers with information on Camp history. If you have Camp History and or Photos you'd like to share through this site get them to Tom Semer or the Webmaster. We'll see that they are returned to you.
