We are at the end of another year of Religious Emblem work and I am pleased that I know of eight Cub Scouts and nine Boy Scouts who received their Religious Emblems this year. The Cub earned the "Light of Christ" award are all hail from Pack 306 in Mentor. Three Scouts earned the Pope Pius XII Award and they all come from Mentor representing Troops 175 and 383. The remining six Scouts from Troop 195 in Chesterland earned their Ad Altare Dei Awards. At the recent Scout EXPO7 there were a multitude of both Cub abd Boy Scouts who earned their Rosary Patches. SOme earned all four while most earned one or two. I commend these Scouts for taking the time to complete these requirements. In addition there were about 20 people who earned the Duty to God patch after spending an hour in a session learning about the Religious Emblem programs sponsored by the P.R.A.Y. group and the National Catholic Committee on Scouting. I am pleased that I will be part of Headwaters Cub Day Camp this year having the opportunity to talk to about 70 Cub Scouts about their Duty to God. This is the first time this has happened and I am looking forward to this opportunity. |
