Scout Sunday Service
On April 27th, 2008 at 12:30pm there will be a Scout Sunday service for all scouts and scouters in the Youngstown/Warren area. This includes Cubs, Boys and Girls Scouts from all faiths and religions. The mass fulfills all Catholic Sunday obligations as we celebrate the Feast Day of St. George, the patron Saint of Scouting.
The celebration will be held at St. Nicholas Church, 764 Fifth Street, Struthers, Ohio by either “Fr. Bob” Bonnot or Fr. Martin Celuch with a con-celebration and final blessing by Monsignor James Kolp, District VI Chaplain of the Catholic Committee on Scouting.
Bob Granchie, Whispering Pines District Chaplain, will also be there to speak about a scout’s “Duty to God” and to answer any questions about obtaining one’s religious award after the service. We will also recognize all those scouts and scout leaders who have previously earned there religious awards as well as the adults who have helped facilitate these young men and women towards those achievements.
Please join us at this approximately one-hour celebration as we honor all the scouts in and around the Youngstown Diocese. No pre-registration is required. Further information can get obtained by contacting Bob Granchie at bobgranchie@sbcglobal.net or calling 330-755-7205. (Class A’s or Girl Scout uniforms please) Thank you and God bless.
