Gary A. Erlinger is originally from the St. Louis, Missouri area. Gary is a Graduate of Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Education History and the University of Illinois with a M.S. & PhD. in Psychology. Gary is a 32-year career employee of the Boy Scouts of America. He has served Boy Scout Councils in Champaign, Illinois; Indianapolis, Indiana and Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Western Reserve Council, headquartered in Warren, Ohio. Gary is responsible for the administration and leadership of the Scouting program in six northeast Ohio counties, serving over 29,000 clients annually through a staff of 20 employees and 5000 volunteers. Gary has had an active involvement in his community, having served on, Forum Health Services Board of Directors, the State of Illinois Governor's task force on Education, the State of Indiana Consumer Council, the Advisory Committee of Indiana University Hospital Institute of Gynecologic Oncology, the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Tap line Crisis Center, Indian Waters Girl Scout Council and as president of his Rotary Club. Gary is married to Carole who is a speech therapist in an integrated pre-school program in the Berea School system. They have four children. Gary is an Eagle Scout, a Paul Harris Fellow, received the Distinguished Service to Youth Award from the state of Wisconsin, a James E. West Fellow, Founders Circle Member and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award of Alpha Phi Omega.
