The Greater Western Reserve Council would like to share with you information about two very important programs to scouting in Northeast Ohio - our Endowment program and the Heritage Society.
As explained on these pages, the Endowment program of the Greater Western Reserve Council provides you, as a friend of Scouting in Northeast Ohio, with an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of thousands of youth. The idea of planned giving is for you to help out scouting with a contribution, over and above your regular Friends of Scouting gift. This contribution may take the form of a James E. West Fellowship ($1,000 minimum gift over a regular FOS gift), an annuity program, or placing scouting in your will. Your gift can be tailored to help scouting while you are living or after you are gone!
Your gift can be earmarked for a specific Endowment Fund, for example, capital and maintenance projects for any of our three council camps, operating of the Council, or camperships.
The Heritage Society is a group of men and women who have included Scouting in their estate planning or made an outright gift to any of the Endowment Funds. Providing for a James E. West Fellowship for yourself, or a loved one, or for a fellow scouter, gives you membership in the Heritage Society.
We have more information that we can send you. Please contact Keith A. Douglass at the Council office by phone, mail, or email! It will be mailed out to you!
