Committee Chair: Thomas Fitzwilliams
The Council Camping Committee, like other committees, has the primary purpose of helping units succeed. If your committee does it's job effectively, youth will have happier Scouting experiences. GWRC Camping responsibilities fall into two major areas: 1) Planning an effective outdoor Scouting program and 2) Promoting that program to develop the participation of Council and out of Council units to attend our camping programs. The operations of our Camping committee are carried out by two sub-committees: Cub Scout and Boy Scout.
The Cub Scout Camping sub-Committee has the overall responsibility for the planning and development of the Council Cub Scout resident and day camps including Family Camping.
The Boy Scout Camping sub-Committee plans the Council Summer Camp program at Camp Stigwandish.
We are sincerely concerned about making our Council Camping programs the best possible opportunity for a Scouting camp experience for our youth. We welcome comments and suggestions regarding our Council Camping programs.
