- Merit Badge.com an excellent resource for merit badge requirements including worksheets and other aids.
- What a Scout Must DO:
- Get a signed merit badge form from his scoutmaster and the name and phone number of a registered merit badge counselor for the intended badge.
- Contact the merit badge counselor and tell that person he wants to earn the badge. Go to see the counselor to find out what is expected of him.
- Get the merit badge pamphlet on his subject.
- Learn and do the things that the pamphlet describes as being required for the badge.
- When ready, call the counselor again to make an appointment. Bring along the things he has made to meet the requirements or proof of what he has done. The counselor will spend time with him to make sure that he knows his stuff. When the counselor is satisfied that the scout has done what is required, he signs the boy’s merit badge form and should keep one part for his records.
- He gives the signed from to his scoutmaster who will get the badge for him and will present it to him at an appropriate time such as a court of honor.
