Up at the top of the camp, there is the K.L. Brown Pavilion, shown at the right, which is used for large cookouts, parties, and other such functions. The pavilion can hold approximately 150 people. This pavilion can be rented out at rates explained on the fees page.

parade grounds

Down what is affectionately called "Cardiac Hill" is found the parade grounds. The parade grounds are easily the size of a football field and are used for a variety of activities. When camp is in session, this is where the flag ceremonies are held, being that is where the flag poles are located. These parade grounds are the main heart of the camp.

Stabaugh includes 8 rentable cabins/lodges, 7 campsites, plus the Rotary Building and Dining Hall.
There is a lot more information that could be put into this page about the camp, but for now, this is what we have.

Eagle at Stambaugh 01/15/2005During retreat at the January 2005 Klondike Stambaugh had a visitor I've never seen before at the camp. At the end of the ceremony a large raptor flew out of the east over the parade grounds and landed in a tree northwest of the island. As it landed a couple sharp-eyed Scouters from Troop 46 noticed the bird had a white tail and white head! Yep, a Bald Eagle in Camp Stambaugh. He sat in the tree looking around long enough that most of the scouts and scouters headed back to Camp Akela managed to get a look at him and a couple of us managed to try to get pictures of him. (The picture supplied was shot with an HP215 digital at super fine resolution and 2x digital zoom then enhanced using JASC Paint Shop Pro v7.04. If you have a better shot please e-mail it to the WP Webmaster ppacbob@juno.com). Later, while sitting at Leffingwell & Tippycanoe I noticed what appears to be an Eagle nest high in a tree at the edge of the farm across from the intersection.
